Psychological          support

Psychological support involves individuals having a set of tools to cope with stress, mental health challenges and emotional difficulties.

In the world of SEND I know that when you are fighting got you or for your child that this can be exhausting and stressful, especially if you feel like you are constantly 'hitting a brick wall'.

With my experience in the SEND world, my SEN legal training, and being a qualified counsellor means I can support and guide you though this journey and support your wellbeing along the way.

Psychological and well-being services

Parent & Family Support Sessions

Supporting a loved one on the SEND journey can feel overwhelming. These sessions are a dedicated space for you to share your feelings and experiences, without judgment.

While not a counselling session, our time together will focus on:

Listening to your emotions and challenges with understanding.

Supporting your wellbeing as you navigate the process.

Offering clear guidance and insight into the SEND journey.

These sessions are designed to give you the breathing space and reassurance you need, while also helping you explore options and feel more confident moving forward.

These can be booked as one off sessions or as a block of sessions.

Group Parent Support Sessions

Parenting a child with SEND or neurodiversity can feel isolating and overwhelming. These group sessions provide a safe and understanding space where parents can come together to share, learn, and feel supported.

Each session is professionally facilitated, combining:

Peer support — connecting with other parents who truly understand your experiences.

Professional guidance — practical strategies and insight into the SEND journey.

Shared learning — gaining fresh perspectives and exploring solutions together.

Wellbeing focus — supporting you as a parent, not just the role you play.

These can be booked as one off sessions or as a block of sessions.

Supporting the Wellbeing of SEND Professionals

Working within the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) world is deeply rewarding, but it can also be overwhelming. Teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, and even leadership teams invest so much of their energy into supporting children and parents on their SEND journey, often putting others' needs ahead of their own. Over time, this can lead to burnout and emotional exhaustion, which ultimately impacts the staff member’s wellbeing and, in turn, affects the entire school community.

To help staff navigate the pressures of this challenging yet rewarding work, I offer Wellbeing and Psychosocial Sessions tailored to those working within the SEND world. These are not formal counseling sessions, but a safe, confidential space to talk about your experiences, share your feelings, and discuss the emotional challenges you might be facing.

During these sessions, I focus on:

Providing emotional support: A space to reflect on your feelings, frustrations, or any stresses you might be dealing with.

Supporting mental wellbeing: Offering guidance on maintaining your emotional balance, setting healthy boundaries, and managing stress.

Understanding the complexities of the SEND world: Helping staff better understand the emotional and psychological demands that come with working in SEND, and exploring strategies to manage those demands.

Sharing coping strategies: From mindfulness techniques to time management practices, I offer tools to help you maintain your wellbeing while working in a demanding environment.

It's essential that you, as a professional, feel supported too—your wellbeing is crucial not only for your own health but also for the success of the children and families you support.

You may also find it helpful to connect with relevant charities who offer information, resources, and community support. Please note: I do not specifically recommend these organisations — they are provided simply as guidance so that parents and carers can explore additional sources of support.

Whether you choose to work with me or         explore these resources, I hope they help you feel supported along the SEND journey.”

Support is available, and seeking help is a sign of strength — you don’t have to navigate the SEND journey alone.
