LilyOaks Practice

Welcome to LilyOaks Practice.

My name is Beth, and I am a qualified, person-centred counsellor with a background in psychology and special educational needs. I hold a First-Class Children's and Youth Studies Degree and a Master’s in Psychology.

I am a registered member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

I have also carried out research into how autism is considered within behaviour policies in schools, helping me advocate for more inclusive and supportive approaches and truly understand how SEND and policies combine and the impact on the children.

My expertise is in Autism and ADHD, and I am passionate about supporting children, young people, and families in navigating their challenges and strengths.

As a parent, I understand the importance of a safe and inclusive environment, and I aim to provide this for every client. I adapt my practice to meet individual needs, bringing both experience and a deep understanding of the SEN world to every session.

I started LilyOaks because I saw a need for emotional support within the SEN community, and my SEND knowledge, legal training, and counselling experience give me a unique perspective to guide individuals on their emotional journey.

The foundations of my practice are built on the belief that every individual is unique and deserves to be valued for who they are. My first goal is always to be inclusive, ensuring that each person I work with feels seen, heard, and understood.

I also work alongside a range of professional colleagues and have access to additional   resources. I understand that I may not the the right counsellor or SEND advisor for you, that’s absolutely okay—everyone is an       individual, and everyone needs different kinds of support. I will always endeavour to refer you on.
